Gold Standard Award
Mearns & Company are proud to hold the Gold Standard for Independent Financial Advice. We are the only firm in Scotland to hold this accolade and one of only four in the UK. The award was presented to Margaret Mearns and Malcolm Steel by John Greenway MP in the House of Commons on the 25th November 2009.
The Gold Standard Awards, run by Investment Week's parent company Incisive Media, are now in their seventh year. The Awards aim to identify financial services companies that demonstrate a strong structure and consistent customer-orientated ethos.
The Gold Standard Awards take into account financial strength and assess areas such as trust, fair value, service as well as capability to conduct business. They are designed to identify companies that not only have strong structures and procedures in place, but are going above and beyond standard business practices to offer a better proposition to clients.
Only those companies that can clearly demonstrate they go above and beyond standard requirements are considered for a Gold Standard Award.
Judges' Comments regarding Mearns & Company:
"The client service proposition is transparent and easy to understand. It is also written in user friendly language that is comprehensible without being condescending. The advice process is well constructed and they make a great effort to set out issues of risk and return in a way that clients should understand."
