Margaret formed Mearns & Company in 1994 following many years as a Director of one of Scotland's largest independent financial advisory companies. Margaret is an authorised Chartered Financial Planner, Certified Financial Planner and Associate of the Personal Finance Society.

Margaret is also an Associate of the Institute of Financial Planning which requires a commitment to an exacting code of Ethics and Professional Practice. Margaret is currently working to attain the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners' Diploma.

Margaret is an accomplished dancer in her spare time and enjoys spending time with her family.
